4. Our Traditional Aran Sweater

Our unisex traditional style Irish Aran sweater is one of our most popular sweaters as it is steeped in history, the Aran crew neck sweater is the original traditional Irish sweater that originated in the Aran Islands, hence it’s name.  It has been worn by generations of Irish men and women and is recognised globally as a symbol of Ireland. The Aran sweater has become a very fashionable item to wear as it can be worn in so many different ways, regular fit, oversized, with jeans or chinos, with leggings, a skirt or even shorts. This Aran knit sweater is knit with merino wool and has a mixture of traditional knitted patterns, including the Aran cable knit and the honeycomb design. You can read about the meanings of the various stitches here https://aranislandsknitwear.com/history-of-the-aran-sweater/
